IRgH offers courses to beginners on individial historical research, provided there is a sufficient number of applicants.
The following aspects will be taught in eleven lessons:

• Reading family names in various writing systems
• General introduction into reading old texts and related difficulties
• Using church registers
• Pre-reformation sources on family history
• Woman who have married into families
• Migration, spreading, ancestors joining families
• Territories, estates and houses of ancestors
• Historical illustrations of ancestors
• Erecting a classsic genealogical tree
• Family crests
• DNA-analysis to research relationships
